Effectively manage Financial Control within Consumer Banking and Pvt banking Business. Provide accounting guidelines to business, set-up accounting processes, review and correct divisions booking in line with accounting standards. Act as the spoke for Business, Finance and MI related Projects, manage audit and risk process for Business Finance.
Key priorities of this role include:
Provide accounting guidelines to the associated business processes. Review and confirm treatment in relation to booking of Balance sheet and P&L.
Review accrual and provisioning processes for the unit and confirm the treatment. Ensure adequate accruals / provisioning as per accounting standards.
Review and approve all GL requirements for business division in consultation with Group Finance for new accounting treatments.
Conduct detailed reviews of the divisions financials and initiate corrective journals in case of any anomalies.
Act as Business Finance Lead/Spoke for all business projects. Manage UAT and sign off on these projects from, finance perspective.
Act as Spoke for all Finance related projects and enhancements including Financial reporting, Management reporting and Tax projects. Coordinate with Business partners and IT Units in driving such projects for the division.
Initiate various financial control measures within the division to avoid wrong financial treatment and operational loss within the division. Closely coordinate with group control team for resolution of any reconciliation breaks within the division.
Ensure resolution and closure of all audit comments in relation to financial treatments and reporting for the business division.
Conduct periodic risk control self-assessments for the function and initiate risk mitigating actions.
Perform monthly review of discretionary authority exercised by the owners and provide consolidated reports on discretion used to management.
Act as account owner for business finance related suspense accounts, and perform reconciliation and provide monthly attestations to group on these accounts.
