SUMMARY

The Landscape Maintenance Crew Members/Labourers will demonstrate an entry level working knowledge of landscape maintenance to help keep our completed sites maintained, clean and looking beautiful.

You have proven track record in service, attendance, and reliability. You have exceptional time management skills and are personable and can effectively communicate

This position is seasonal and requires physical labour and taking direction from the Maintenance Lead Hand and Site Foreman for daily job tasks.

Work is labour intensive and will be outdoors in all weather conditions. The general scheduled days are Monday to Saturday from 7:00am to between 5-8:00 pm as required and will be determined by the daily business needs and/or weather permitting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintains a safe and healthy work environment through following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
• Take direction from Maintenance Lead Hand and Site Foreman/Forewoman for daily tasks and goals on site.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn and follow guidance
• Maintain commercial, residential, and neighbourhood landscape areas to our Cutting Edge standards
• Recognize safe operating procedures and proper training on equipment
• Ability to operate company trucks with and without trailers and demonstrate responsible driving an asset
• Operate a variety of small equipment: (experience an asset and will provide training)

o Mowers

o Trimmers

o Edger’s

o Sheers

o Sprayers

o Backpack Blowers

o Aerators

o Water pumps

o Sweepers

o Various power & hand tools

• Minor mechanical repairs such as oil changes, filter changes, tire repairs, and fluid top up
• General construction knowledge
• Basic pruning and knowledge of plant material an asset
• Demonstrate good workmanship
• Ensure hand tools and equipment are in good working order and report any defects to site foreman and mechanic
• Loading and chaining down equipment for proper load securement
• Perform equipment maintenance and daily checks, ensure all equipment is in proper working order
• Uphold our safety culture and safe work practices.
• Take part in daily on-site safety reviews.
• Complete required paperwork for our safety program and participates in weekly meetings
• Daily paperwork including daily logs and safety documents
• Support and co-operation to all Staff and Management and Customers.
• Additional administrative duties as required
• Special projects as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Class 5 Driver’s Licence – A plus but not mandatory as long as you have the ability to get to and from work
• CSTS 2020
• First Aid Certification
• Ability to lift 50lbs
• Bend, rotate and stand for long periods of time
• Previous landscaping experience an asset
• Ability to use various in-house software programs
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
• Competent time management skills
• Flexibility to multi-task
• Able to meet deadlines
• Able to work both in a team environment and independently
• Have an attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
