SUMMARY
The Dozer/Loader Operator will demonstrate an excellent knowledge of driving equipment and vehicle
This position involves taking direction from the Site Foreman/Forewoman and Dispatcher for daily routes and deliveries.
You have proven track record in service, attendance, and reliability. You have exceptional time management skills and are personable and can effectively communicate with internal and external customers, coordinators, and field personnel. You are keen on contributing to a great team, can take direction and work independently.
Work is labour intensive and will be outdoors in all weather conditions. The general scheduled days are Monday to Saturday from 6:00am to between 6-8:00 pm as required and will be determined by the daily business needs and/or weather permitting. Additional shifts may be required on Sundays as well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains a safe and healthy work environment through following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
- Take direction from Site Foreman/Forewoman and Dispatcher for daily productions goals
- Maintain a clean driving abstract prior to and during employment
- Recognize safe operating procedures and proper training on equipment
- Must be able to operate company trucks with and without trailers and demonstrate responsible driving
- Ability to safely operate a variety of equipment:
o Skid steers; with a variety of controls and attachments
o Excavator
o Dozer
o Forklift
o Backhoe/ (Rubber tired hoe)
o Loader
o Various power & hand tools
- Perform equipment maintenance and daily checks, ensure all equipment is in proper working order
- Minor mechanical repairs such as oil changes, filter changes, tire repairs, fluid top ups, tension tracks and greasing
- Responsible to keep equipment in good working order and to report any defects to site foreman and mechanic
- Read and install landscape plans to specifications and scheduled timelines
- General understanding of grade stakes for drainage plans
- Effectively grade soils and clay
- Loading and chaining down equipment for proper load securement
- Complete daily paperwork and material tracking as required
- Uphold our safety culture and safe work practices
- Take part in daily on-site safety reviews
- Complete required paperwork for our safety program and participate in weekly meetings
- Daily paperwork including daily logs and safety documents
- Ensure customer satisfaction through promoting excellent service; respond to customer concerns and complaints tactfully and professionally.
- Entering timesheets on a daily basis
- Completion and investigation of incident reports as required
- Maintenance and filing of documentation as required
- Attend weekly meetings
- Support and co-operation to all Staff and Management and Customers.
- Additional administrative duties as required
- Special projects as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Heavy Equipment Operator; 3 years+
- Similar Heavy Equipment Operating Experience (Dozer, Loader, Excavator, Backhoe)
- Soil Pit experience an asset
- Ability to lift 50lbs
- Bend, rotate and stand for long periods of time
- Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- CSTS 2020
- First Aid Certification an asset
- Heavy Equipment Tickets are an asset
- Significant work experience in the trucking industry
- Significant work experience in the landscaping industry an asset
- Strong working knowledge of landscaping an asset
- Ability to use various in-house software programs
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent time management skills
- Flexibility to multi-task
- Able to meet deadlines
- Able to work both in a team environment and independently
- Have an attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
