Reporting to the Mill Manager, the Chief Metallurgist is responsible to oversee the day-to-day processing of ore and direct all metallurgical activities including the assay lab. This will be a 14 day on / 14 day off rotation at our Keno Hill Project in Elsa, Yukon.
Responsible for the day-to-day production, instrumentation, quality control, and trouble-shooting problems within the Metallurgy department;
Monitor plant performance, analyze trends that can be used to identify areas and opportunities to improve plant performance;
Conduct plant investigations and seek improvement opportunities to increase throughput and reduce cost as required;
Work closely with all departments to ensure environmental compliance and safe functionality of plant operations;
Communicate proficiently and be able to provide technical assistance and analysis to stakeholders;
Responsible for month end reporting;
Able to train, coach and develop.
Degree in mineral processing, metallurgy, or chemical engineering;
Minimum of 10 years of experience in ore processing with experience in supervising teams;
Knowledge of the principles and methods used in metallurgical and processing analysis;
Resourceful with superior analytical skills;
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required;
Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented and the ability to work with others in a team environment;
• Strong commitment to working in a safe, socially responsible manner; • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
